Internationally renowned investigative journalist Christine Dolan will address the Talbot Association of Clergy and Laity (TACL), promptly at Noon, Tuesday, October 21, in the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House on Rte. 50, south of Dutchman’s Lane. The public is invited to attend and to bring lunch.
Christine Dolan is a broadcast and print investigative journalist, photographer, and author. Her career has focused on US and international politics and policy, wars, conflicts, humanitarian disasters, terrorist and criminal networks. Since 2000, she has focused on human trafficking worldwide, on the street and over the internet. She is the author of the groundbreaking report, Shattered Innocence – The Millennium Holocaust, which has been lauded internationally as the authoritative work on child slavery. Ms. Dolan is a co-founder of “Children in Slavery: The 21st Century Global Campaign.”
Ms. Dolan’s work has been endorsed by the European Parliament, the US State Department, FBI, US Customs, US Homeland Security, Australian Federal Police, Scotland Yard, and other international law enforcement agencies. She lectures on human trafficking in America and abroad, and has spoken before the UN in Geneva and New York, and addressed the French National Assembly at the invitation of President Jacques Chirac.
“Every cleric and every educator in Talbot County needs to hear Christine,” said TACL chairman Bishop Joel Marcus Johnson. “Because we are committed to education and quality of life, our young people may be considered attractive targets by kidnapping and trafficking rings. Her presentation is vital to our elevated awareness of this worldwide crisis. This is not just an ISIL crime, it happens even here in America.”
Now active for over six decades, TACL is a voluntary association of religious congregations, medical and social welfare organizations, providing the opportunity for networking and professional advancement, and for generating events of ecumenical and interfaith fellowship. Both individuals and congregations may be members. For more information, write to [email protected] .
