The Christmas in St. Michaels board has announced the names of the non-profit organizations it has selected as beneficiaries of the funds that will be raised by this year’s charity fund-raising event on December 11, 12 and 13. They are Character Counts, Christ Episcopal Church – St. Michaels, Claiborne Association, Classic Motor Museum of St. Michaels, Critchlow Adkins Children’s Centers – St. Michaels Site, Drew Landis Memorial Fireworks Fund, Inc., Good Samaritan Fund of Talbot County, Imagination Library of Talbot County, Mt. Olivet Cemetery – St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, Pickering Creek Audubon Center, St. Luke’s School, St. Michaels After School Help, St. Michaels Community Food Pantry, St. Michaels High School After Prom, St. Michaels Little League, Sink or Swim – Miles River Yacht Club Foundation, Talbot Interfaith Shelter, Tilghman Area Youth Association and Union United Methodist Church.
In making this announcement, CISM board president Bev Pratt said, “We are very pleased to continue our financial support of local non-profit organizations that enhance the quality of life for members of all ages in our community. This year our funds are supporting services in the areas of education and child development, family services, historical heritage preservation, conservation and environmental preservation and community enhancements.”
The Christmas in St. Michaels December event provides a very special start to the holiday season. Activities include a Holiday Gala, Talbot Street Parade, Tour of Homes, Breakfast with Santa, Santa’s Wonderland, Gingerbread House Display, shopping at Marketplace for hand-crafted gifts, a Celebration of Choirs, and many other holiday festivities. Since its founding in 1987, CISM has raised more than $1M for its beneficiaries.
