Want to develop new skills or make use of existing ones? Looking to meet new people and do something rewarding with your time?
Individuals searching for volunteer opportunities in Talbot County can learn what the organizations have to offer by attending a volunteer fair on Saturday, April 30, at the Academy Art Museum, 106 South Street, Easton, MD, from 11 AM to 1 PM.
Representatives from various Talbot County groups will be available to answer your questions and provide information about volunteering with their respective organizations.
Volunteers are needed for diverse activities such as assisting with events, grant writing, office skills, carpentry, gardening, mentoring, tutoring, and much, much more. Individuals of all ages and abilities are encouraged to learn more about each organization and its service opportunities without any obligation to join them.
Sponsored by the Academy Art Museum (AAM) and Easton Economic Development Corporation (EEDC), the event is free for both participants and those interested in volunteering. No registration or appointment is required, but interested volunteers can fill out a questionnaire to help guide you to the organization(s) that fit your skills and experience: https://bit.ly/volunteercontactinfo.
“In these economic times, as organizations are facing increasing demands for services, the need for volunteers is greater than ever,” said Val Cavalheri, one of the Fair organizers. “Volunteers can help fill this growing need. Come see what’s available and bring your friends and your desire to make our community even better!”
If you are an organization needing volunteers and have not yet registered, go to https://bit.ly/VolunteerFair2022 and fill out a questionnaire. Participating organizations will be expected to set up a table at the event and discuss the nature of their work, time commitments, typical schedule, and how to volunteer. AAM will provide tables.
