The first snowflake has fallen in St. Michaels. No it is not the perfect storm but it is a pretty amazing group of people who have come together to help raise money for the St. Michaels Community Center.
Artists Sue Stockman and Bobby Malzone are working with children from the St. Michaels Community Center to create mosaic snowflakes that will decorate Justine’s this December transforming the ice cream parlor into a winter wonderland.
“It always thrills me when a project like this brings so many from the community together in such a fun way”, says Trish Payne, Executive Director of SMCC.
The St. Michaels Community Center will raise money this December by taking photos of children with Santa Claus at Justine’s and offering gift wrapping services by Santa elves at Chesapeake Bay Real Estate, LLC right next door on Talbot Street.
“It’s a wonderful joint effort to support others in the spirit of Christmas,” said Dawn Lednum of Chesapeake Bay Real Estate, LLC.
“The North Pole is coming to North Talbot Street,” said Kathy Lash of Justine’s. “What a wonderful partnership with local businesses to benefit our community and those in need.”
Everyone is welcome to come in and create a snowflake. Please check Justine’s Facebook Page for workshop times and dates. Cookies and milk will be served.
