Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot will join the Democratic Club of Queen Anne’s County at its next monthly meeting on Thursday, March 4, (Correction: March 7) at Fisherman’s Inn at Kent Narrows. Mr. Franchot will discuss his efforts to ensure sound economic stewardship in tight budget times, sound government procurement, and tax fairness. In addition, he is also expected to discuss the 2014 statewide races, including his decision to run for re-election for a third term as Comptroller.
First sworn in as Comptroller in 2007, Mr. Franchot is a long time resident of Takoma Park, where he represented citizens in the Maryland House of Delegates from 1987 until taking his current office.
The event will begin at 6:30 pm with a social and the formal meeting will start at 7pm. Light refreshments will be provided. The public is welcome to attend.
