The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is offering a workshop to teach the basics of carving a nameboard on Saturday, July 9, with all participants taking home their individual carved pieces.
Participants will work under the direction of experienced carver and model maker Ed Theiler, to learn the basic skills necessary in carving a nameboard, with all necessary carving tools and materials provided by CBMM.
The program takes place in the museum’s boatshop from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and is $50 for CBMM members and $75 for non-member. Participation is limited, with advanced registration needed by contacting [email protected] or 410-745-4941.
