The Delmarva Pride Center will host the Second Annual Town Hall: The Future of LGBTQ+ Protections in Maryland on Thursday, January 15, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Cady Theatre at Chesapeake College.
This important community forum will bring together elected officials, legal experts, and LGBTQ+ advocates to discuss the current status of LGBTQ+ protections in Maryland and examine what the future may hold amid a shifting legal and political landscape. The event will feature a moderated panel discussion followed by a public question-and-answer session, allowing attendees to engage directly with panelists.
Confirmed panelists include:
Delegate Kris Fair, Maryland House of Delegates
Jonathan Smith, Esq., Chief of the Civil Rights Division, Maryland Office of the Attorney General
Lee Blinder, Chair, Maryland Commission on LGBTQIA+ Affairs, and Executive Director, Trans Maryland
Joseph Toolan, Inaugural Chair of the Maryland Commission on LGBTQIA+ Affairs and Immediate Past Chair of Annapolis Pride
“This town hall is about creating space for honest conversation, shared learning, and community connection.” says Iván Colón, Chair of the Delmarva Pride Center. “We want people to leave informed, empowered, and knowing they are not alone in this moment.”
The event is free and open to the public. LGBTQ+ community members, allies, advocates, students, and anyone interested in civil rights and public policy are encouraged to attend.
