Eastern Shore Political Action Committee for Social and Economic Justice (Eastern Shore PAC) is pleased to endorse Jesse Colvin for U.S. Congress (District 1), and Keasha Haythe, Naomi Hyman, and Pete Lesher for Talbot County Council.These four leaders reflect the Eastern Shore PAC vision for political candidates who stand for healthy and prosperous communities and ensure fair and equitable treatment for all.
The Eastern Shore PAC endorsements reflect input, engagement and values of the community. Candidates seeking endorsement submitted written responses to a series of questions about their priorities for representing Eastern Shore communities, their personal story, and why they are running for office. Eastern Shore PAC members provided input and comments on the responses for consideration by the PAC’s candidate selection committee.
“I am grateful to the Eastern Shore PAC for voting to endorse our campaign for Talbot County Council. I look forward to working with PAC members to serve our community and promoting our shared vision for its future,” said Naomi Hyman, who is running for Talbot County Council. Keasha Haythe, also running for Talbot County Council said, “I am honored to be endorsed and stand together to join the mission of the Eastern Shore PAC by supporting the fight for a healthy and prosperous community for all. Inclusion is the best way to ensure we are hearing from all voices and all voices in Talbot County are important.” Upon learning of the endorsement, candidate for Talbot County Council, Pete Lesher replied “I am honored to have the endorsement of the Eastern Shore PAC and I share the vision of the local citizens for a prosperous rural economy in Talbot County.”
Eastern Shore PAC is a nonpartisan political action committee seeking to support political candidates on the Eastern Shore of Maryland who stand for healthy and prosperous communities and ensure fair and equitable treatment for all. “These candidates truly reflect the spirit of our community and the intention of our values-based PAC,” said Meredith Lathbury Girard, Chair of the Eastern Shore PAC. PAC Treasurer, Susan Russell, explained that the endorsements are “our way of thinking globally and acting locally.” PAC Board Member, Michele Drostin added, “This is an important time to come together and support candidates who will work for healthy and prosperous communities for all.”
Eastern Shore PAC was established in 2017 by members of the Easton, Maryland community to support candidates promoting safe and welcoming communities for all, prosperous rural economies, a quality healthcare system for everyone, high-performing schools for our children, and healthy air, land, and water for Eastern Shore communities.
