Mid-Shore residents are invited to take a walk on the wild side this spring at Bolingbroke Park, hosted by the Izaak Walton League’s Mid-Shore Chapter. With the Mountain Laurel in full bloom, this limited-time natural display offers a colorful forest backdrop for family-friendly exploration and outdoor recreation.
On Saturday, May 24, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Bolingbroke Park will open its 1.5 miles of hiking trails to the public. Guests can also enjoy hands-on experiences in kayaking and archery. The park is located at 2665 Moneymake Road, Trappe, MD.
In addition, the Mid-Shore Chapter will host a Skills Day on Saturday, June 7, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Bolingbroke Park. This event includes structured learning sessions for aspiring naturalists, birders, kayakers, and archers, with expert instruction and all equipment provided.
A complimentary BBQ lunch will be served from 12:00 to 12:30 PM. Session availability is limited by age and group size, so early registration is recommended.
