As the summer season comes to a close, a welcome shift in temperature invites us to enjoy the outdoors once again. Fall is an ideal time to make changes in your garden. The weather is mild, water needs are not as pressing and there is plenty of time for newly installed plants to become established before they begin to go dormant for the winter. Join Environmental Concern for their semi-annual native plant sale September 9th and 10th. A large selection of shrubs and trees will be available for purchase; herbaceous plant offerings will range from ferns and grasses to flowering perennials. Several of these species will also be available in sampler packs, themed assortments of 2” plugs, which are a bargain for gardeners who prefer to try new species. The majority of the species are grown from seed collected on the Delmarva Peninsula by Environmental Concern staff.
