The St Michaels High School SAINTS Wrestling Team held their final home match for this season on Wednesday by hosting the North Caroline Bulldogs and North Dorchester Eagles in a TRI-Meet.
The schedule for tonight had the Bulldogs wrestling the Eagles in the first match with North Dorchester squeaking by North Caroline 36 to 35.
The Saints then took on North Dorchester with the Saints winning the match 42 to 39.
The third and final match of the evening had North Caroline fighting to victory over the Saints by a score of 48 to 31.
Between the two St Michaels matches the President of the Saints Sports Boosters, LuAnn McKelvey honored the seven senior wrestlers and two team managers. This time honored ritual has the seniors presenting a rose to his or her Mother as they parade in front of the home town stands. I had the pleasure of reading a short biography of each senior listing their accomplishments while attending St Michaels Middle-High School.
The nine graduating seniors are;
Jared Camper
Ryan Daisey
Tony Deasel
Randy Gowe
Brooks Hambleton
Brian Mister
Kyle Pepper
Sadie Swartz
Haley Wroten
We wish the nine graduating seniors associated with the Saints wrestling team the best as they venture into their future, be it college or securing a career in the workforce. I would like to pay special recognition to Ryan Daisey who stated he was planning to join the Coast Guard following graduation. Good Luck, Ryan.
