For All Seasons, Inc. has doubled the size of its Rape Crisis Services staff since last year with new funding from the Governor’s Office on Crime Control and Prevention. The agency has also increased the number of bilingual staff to serve and support the Mid-Shore region’s growing Hispanic/Latino community with mental health treatment and victim advocacy services.
Executive Director Beth Anne Langrell said “We are thrilled to have such a strong team at our agency. Under the direction of Ivy Garcia, this team will be able to meet the ever growing needs of the community, increase education and outreach programs, develop support groups for survivors and family members and create additional programs as gaps are identified.”
For All Seasons, Inc. (FAS) is a nonprofit founded in 1986 by five Mid-Shore women to raise awareness here about the systemic problem of sexual violence and child sexual abuse. Today, FAS is the only licensed outpatient Behavioral Health and Rape Crisis Agency serving the five counties of the Mid-Shore without regard to one’s ability to pay. FAS uses a strength-based, person-centered model of care to stabilize adults, families and children in the community.
The agency serves 1994 men, women and children in five offices in Easton, Chestertown, Queenstown, Denton and Cambridge. The Rape Crisis Center offers 24/7/365 hotline support in both English and Spanish. Bilingual advocates meet victims at local Emergency Rooms, and accompany victims of crime to court appointments. Last year, the hotlines received 1493 crisis calls, and the Rape Center served 75 victims of sexual assault, domestic violence and abuse that included men, women, teens, children and toddlers. Advocacy and intensive case management was provided to 101 rural victims of crime.
For the past 15 years, Viola Farrow has supported domestic violence victims through case management, working to educate victims about cycles of violence and understanding their rights. Viola will work the FAS crisis hotline and serve as a victim advocate.
Robin Sample has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and spent the last 18-months working as a Case Manager for Mid-Shore Council on Family Violence. At FAS, Robin will serve as a Victim Advocate and Educator for the Rape Crisis Center.
