Bosley Brangier Custom Hand Tailored Apparel is hosting a Foxchasing Open House, Thursday June 28 from 1 – 7 p.m. to benefit the Maryland Association for Wildlife Conservation (MAWC).
The event will explore the history and nuances of foxchasing and proper attire. Beginning at 1:15, there will be a series of short talks about the sport.
Speakers include:
• Mr. Jay Young, President of MAWC and Elkridge Harford Hunt Club, who will speak at 5:15 to discuss “Foxchasing in Maryland: Is it in danger?”
• Mr. Norman Fine, of huntinglife.com, who will discuss the transformation of riding habit from “court attire” to the current day standards.
• Ms. Trish Bosley, owner of Bosley Brangier, who will present advice and tips for riders to get the best and most appropriate attire for the sport.
Topics include the correct details and fit of “frock” coats, hacking jackets and vests, hunt club colors and what they mean, the history of tweeds and tattersall fabrics in the sport and other topics such as the correct wearing of a tattersall vest, the meaning of the number of buttons on a coat and the corner shapes of coats.
Several guest vendors will attend the event, Huntinglife.com with books on fox chasing, The Vintage Fox with antique jewelry, and Two Old Mares Blanket Service picking up horse blankets to be cleaned/repaired. Partial proceeds of sales will be donated to MAWC. Refreshments, including sweet pastries from Adel’s Sticky Buns, will be served.
In addition to custom equestrian apparel, Bosley Brangier provides business wear for men and women.
