Advisors for the George B. Todd Fund; Bill Brooks, Charles Capute, John McGinnis, Martin Mullaney, David Tolley and Mid-Shore Community Foundation President, Buck Duncan presented $86,000 in grant funding to the following organizations: Cambridge-South Dorchester Track & Field, Crossroads Community, Delmarva Community Services, Harriet Tubman Center of Excellence, Hurlock Volunteer Fire Company, Main Street Housing, North Dorchester High School Gentlemen’s Club, Waugh Chapel United Methodist Church and Young Audiences Arts for Learning.
The George B. Todd Fund makes numerous charitable distributions each year in Dorchester County. The Todd Advisors meet quarterly to review proposals, learn about new charitable projects and discuss ways to improve the quality of life in their county. Grants are made for a wide range of projects and causes. Since its founding in 1998, the George B. Todd Fund has provided nearly $3 million in grants to Dorchester County organizations and causes. The Mid-Shore Community Foundation carries out all administrative requirements of the Todd Fund including; quarterly reports, oversight of investments, audit, tax filings, site visits, evaluations of prospective grantees and grant distributions per the advisors’ recommendations.
