The League of Women Voters of the Mid-Shore will hold its Annual Meeting and Dinner on Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Cambridge Yacht Club. The meeting begins at 4:00 p.m. A cash bar will be available at 5:30 and Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. Reservations are required for the dinner.
Special speaker for the event is Wayne Gilchrest, former District 1 Congressman and now Director of the Sassafras Environmental Education Center. Mr. Gilchrest will share the Center’s activities and involvement with school children on maintenance and stewardship of the Sassafras River and on the role of climate change in the health of the Sassafras and other rivers.
Reservations for the Dinner must be made by April 18. The menu includes a choice of main entrée, including a vegetarian dish, dessert, and beverages. Please advise of dietary needs when making reservations. Cost is $35 per person. Individuals wishing to become League benefactors may purchase tickets for the Luncheon at $50 per person. A portion of the dinner proceeds will go toward publication of the 2014 Primary and General Election Voters’ Guides which provide information on candidates and issues before voters.
