Talbot County Visual Arts Center’s “The 3rd Dimension” art show is opening Saturday, September 7th from 5 – 7pm. This should prove to be a highlight of Easton’s First Saturday Gallery Walk. This opening will coincide with the celebration of TCVAC’s grand opening of their new art center. There are more than 60 entries, all shapes, sizes and mediums! This show was open to the general public, not just TCVAC members.
The criterion for this show was simple: 3-Dimensional, not a painting, photograph or a drawing, unless it is a part of a 3-D structure. There are relief pieces that hang on the wall, objects of art on stands or in a case. 3-D can be anything from a piece of jewelry, to a ceramic pot, to a wall hanging, weaving, found art objects, etc.
The Arts Center located at 10 S. Hanson Street in the Easton Biz and Artz Center. The exhibit will run through the month of September, closing on September 28th. There hours of operation are Wednesday through Saturday, 11am to 4pm, or by appointment.
Simultaneously, TCVAC member, Don Saballus, will be hosting his One Man Show opening at Church Alley Gallery from 5 – 7pm on Saturday, the 7th. Don Saballus’s palette knife painting “Peace in the Pond” was selected as the 2013 winner of the 3rd Annual St. Michaels Art League and Plein Air Painters of the Eastern Shore Award for the Best Landscape Painting at the Academy Art Museum. Don Saballus works primarily in pastel, oils, and acrylics and he has won numerous awards. This show is open to the public during the week, 8:30 to 5pm.
