Actors from the stage play With Love will perform at the October 14 noon meeting of Talbot Association of Clergy and Laity (TACL), at Easton Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 7401 Ocean Gateway on US Rte. 50. The public is invited to attend this brown bag event.
Managing Director Lisa Roth explained that With Love is a show of stories. Last year, the Hugh Gregory Gallagher Theatre asked the community to share anecdotes, short stories, or memories of struggles, perhaps poignant, or even humorous tales about someone or themselves with disabilities. You ask questions, you get answers! All the stories are told from the heart, presented as a readers’ theatre production. TACL’s show will be a string of stories from the play.
“The show is a godsend,” said TACL chairman Bishop Joel Marcus Johnson. “We clergy and lay religious leaders always need to hear stories of real inspiration in our own time and from our own communities. The respective scriptures of our interfaith community are filled with amazing stories from the times of their writing. With Love gives us collateral stories of healing within our own day, so vital to each of our ministries.”
Bishop Joel also said that he hoped member congregations would receive the vision of the Hugh Gregory Gallagher Theatre to include in their own local ministries, its role vital to building compassion and understanding for TACL’s initiative to examine the tremendous need for community and parish nursing, given Talbot’s rapid rise per capita in seniors and persons with disabilities.
