Jim Duffy will present “Underground Railroad Journeys on Delmarva” at Lunch & Learn at St. Michaels Library on February 3, noon.
Award-winning writer and storyteller Jim Duffy of Cambridge will share keystone stories, surprising finds, and life lessons learned from his work on the book Tubman Travels: 32 Underground Railroad Journeys on Delmarva. The presentation will touch on heroes of the Underground Railroad on the Delmarva Peninsula, including Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman as well as some lesser known champions of freedom. Duffy will be signing copies of the books after the talk.
Duffy is the co-founder (with his wife, the photographer Jill Jasuta) of Secrets of the Eastern Shore, a local business that celebrates the heritage and beauty of the Delmarva Peninsula in words, pictures, and products. He is an award-winning magazine writer whose work has appeared in numerous regional publications. He is also the author of Eastern Shore Road Trips (Vol. 1): 27 One-Day Adventures on Delmarva and Eastern Shore Road Trips (Vol. 2): 26 MORE One-Day Adventures on Delmarva.
