For 34 years, Fine Arts @ Oxford has been the Oxford Community Center’s biggest, most visible event. Thousands of people come to Oxford over the weekend from throughout the region to see the selected juried artists exhibiting and selling their Fine Art. Every year there is a fresh, yet consistent show for art enthusiast which creates loyal attendance and growth each year.
The juried artists this year are David Aiken, Norman Bell, Paula Bell, Joel Boches, Carole Boggemann-Peirson, Katie Cassidy, Nancy Coleman, Fred Craig, Geraldine Czajkowski, Mary Ekroos, Lois Engberg, Rae Hamilton, George Hamilton, Patti Hopkins, Debra Howard, Carla Huber, Linda Kirvan, Kim Klabe, David Leonard, Mary Ellen Mabe, Michelle Marshall, Diane DuBois Mullaly, Stephanie Nadolski, Paul Passano, William Patterson, Kurt Plinke, Jim Rehak, Steve Rogers, Bradford Ross, John Schisler, Nick Serratore, Sharon Stockley, Scott Sullivan, Mary Veiga, Betsy VonDreele, Jen Wagner, Sean Wells, C Keith Whitelock and Barbara Zuehlke.
The artists will be featured on the new Oxford Community Center’s website with direct links to the artist’s website so the public can learn more about the artist and their work. The quality of each selected exhibitor is amazing. In partnership with The Talbot Spy, there will be some featured interviews with the artists available as well. Every artist has a story and the weekend festival brings the community a closer understanding and enjoyment of not only the fine art, but the artist as well.
The weekend kicks-off with the gala preview event Friday, May 18th at 6:00 p.m. consisting of heavy hors d’oeuvres, refreshments and the main attraction of meeting the artists and gaining an early start on the sales and preview of the artwork. Saturday, May 19th the exhibit is open 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Sunday, May 20th resumes at 10:00 a.m. but concludes at 4:00 p.m. Light lunch and refreshments will be offered, including famous homemade strawberry shortcake both days. The Juried exhibitors are available during all open hours for conversation and demos. There are also raffle drawings of artwork generously donated by the exhibiting artists and a “toast of bubbly” to wrap each day.
