The Talbot Bank, a member of Shore Bancshares community of companies, is proud to recognize Laura Heikes for 30 years of dedicated service. Ms. Heikes was a customer of The Talbot Bank in 1986 and enjoyed the customer experience to the point that it inspired her to join the company that same year as an assistant to the Comptroller. She has held various positions during her career at The Talbot Bank such as Manager of Loan Administration, Compliance Officer, and Senior Vice President of Operations, Compliance and Security. In 2013, Laura was promoted to her current position as Senior Vice President of Branch Administration. “Laura is an essential part of The Talbot Bank team” says Pat Bilbrough, President & CEO, The Talbot Bank. “She brings a high level of professionalism and dedication to each of our branches and to the community overall.”
Ms. Heikes lives her commitment to the community with her involvement in many organizations such as Habitat for Humanity Choptank, Talbot Bankers Relay for Life Team, Junior Achievement, Character Counts, Soroptimist of Talbot County, ACE Mentor Program, Easton Lions Club, Partners In Education, 4-H, and Shore Leadership. She received recognition for her professional and personal dedication when she was voted “Talbot County’s Businesswoman of the Year 2014” by the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce and also voted “Talbot County’s Most Beautiful Person” in 2015 for her volunteerism and community service.
Ms. Heikes resides in St. Michaels with her husband, Ed. They have two children, Kate – an RN at University of Maryland Shock Trauma and Jed – employed by Belle Aire Farms, Inc., in St. Michaels. Laura and Ed are overjoyed to recently welcome their new granddaughter, Peyton Skye Heikes. When not volunteering in the community, Laura loves spending time entertaining family and friends.
