The League of Women Voters of the Mid-Shore will hold its Fall Membership Meeting and Pot Luck Luncheon on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Lowe Farm. The meeting will cover the status of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) with a focus on the insurance provisions, especially those for Marylanders, which come into effect in October. The speaker for the event is Glenna Heckathorn. Ms. Heckathorn is a retired healthcare executive. Previously, she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a regional manager, and, later, served as a Vice President for MedStar Health, and finished her career as a healthcare consultant. Her retirement mission is to help people understand and use health insurance effectively. She lives in Cambridge with her husband Harry.
