Letter to Editor: I Support Don Abbatiello for Easton Council President

April 13, 2025 by Letter to Editor

Share

I have followed the proceedings of the Easton Town Council closely over the past five years. Don Abbatiello brings an impressive record of decades of public service to the race for President of the Easton Town Council.

His 27 years of teaching Easton’s young men and women is noteworthy on its own. In addition, he has served for 16 years with the Easton Volunteer Fire Department—both in the field and in leadership roles. That kind of experience helps explain why he approaches even the toughest issues with an open mind and works hard to find common ground on the best solutions for Easton.

In my dealings with him, Don has always been straightforward and a good listener—qualities that are too rare today. He is no ideologue. He focuses on facts rather than the noise around him. He does his homework and explains his reasoning clearly.

Easton faces some tough challenges in the years ahead, including the adoption of a revised Comprehensive Plan, addressing the shortage of affordable housing, and ensuring that Easton remains a vibrant and welcoming community. It’s essential to have the right person leading those critical debates.

Don Abbatiello is the right person.

He gets my support. I heard him speak at an event at a friend’s. I was impressed. He was to make the council more unified.
Vote on May 6 for Don.

I agree that Don Abbatiello is the right choice for Easton Town Council President. Don is logical, responsive, practical and of utmost importance, he is civil and will bring a much needed level of respect and decorum to the Council meetings.
