We are failing to support the people of Ukraine
The House of Representatives is officially “Out to Lunch”
The United States is failing to support the people of Ukraine. Showing a gross dereliction of duty and moral depravity, the US House of Representatives takes a recess instead of continuing to fund the people of Ukraine. Having a choice between showing some backbone or running away, our elected officials decided to run away.
Russia invaded and has been at war with Ukraine for almost 2 years. Due to a lack of ammunition, Russia has gained control of Avdiivka, a key Ukrainian town.
FUND the Ukrainian people.
What were you taught to do when times get tough: run away or take care of business and do the right thing?

This letter is right on the mark. We must support Ukraine, not only because the Ukrainians deserve it, but also because where will Russia stop if it succeeds in this attack? And let us not forget that China is watching.
Wilson Dean says
One of the primary lessons we have learned from history (such as World War II) is that unless stopped, aggressive countries attacking other nations will simply continue to attack others. Ukraine is a country struggling to establish a democracy which is now fighting back against a superpower Russia and facing enormous odds. This is the time the US must continue its support for Ukraine. The House of Representatives needs to approve funding for Ukraine, while perhaps putting a hold on their first priority of following the lead of a debunked Russian-backed FBI informer in their pathetic quest to attack President Biden.
William Keppen says
Hear, hear, I join Robin’s concerns and remarks. America had early failings in its support for other democracies in both WW I and WW II. Had we not joined the efforts of our allies, albeit late, the world would be a much different place, today. It is long past time when those who now oppose support for our allies realize it is essential to the survival of democracies around the world and, therefore, America.
Jim Bachman says
All he wants is the Sudetenland, they said.

Agree! Speaker Johnson must put the Ukraine funding up for a vote asap. Remember this when you are voting in November.
Bishop Joel Marcus Johnson says
The House majority party, I fear, having apparently failed the lessons of history, may be doomed to repeat it. If they do, they’ll drag along the rest of us, but mostly the precious treasure of our grandsons and daughters in uniform. Shame on the House majority!
Annabel Lesher says
We’ll said.
