Talbot Mentors will feature the work of 13 of its student artists at a reception on Friday, April 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at Easton’s Promise Art Gallery on Goldsborough Street in Easton.
For the past five years, the organization’s Partners in Art program has offered opportunities for students to work with local artists in a variety of media, expanding the students’ artistic knowledge and horizons. The program is sponsored in part by the Talbot County Arts Council, with funds from the Talbot County Council.
Participating artists in the past year’s program included Gwen Cameron, John Dynan, David Grafton, Peg Papa, Tom Ryan, Nanny Trippe, Jen Wagner, Heidi Wetzel and Paul Winters. Each worked with one or more students to share talent and skills, providing guidance as the students created their own unique pieces of art. Mentors provided transportation to the artists’ studios for the working sessions.
Talbot Mentors Executive Director Paige Jernigan offered special thanks to board member Peter Howell and his wife, Carla, for hosting the reception, and to board member Margot Miller for once again recruiting and coordinating activities with the artists.
There will be light refreshments at the reception, with a brief presentation taking place at 6:00 p.m. The public is welcome and invited to attend.
