Mid-Shore Arts: Dorchester Arts Honors Founders and Members

June 24, 2021 by Dave Wheelan

For Barb Seese, the executive director of the Dorchester Center for the Arts, the reopening of the DCA galleries and classrooms on High Street couldn’t have come a day too soon.

While the DCA’s board and staff have been creatively using their website and telelearning to keep their mission going during the pandemic, to have their flagship exhibition and classroom building be so limited for 14 months was painful for all.

But slowly but surely, the DCA community has once again emerged and in plain sight, as the Center has the final days of its annual Members show and a fitting tribute to the organization’s original creators entitled A Lasting Legacy: Art from DCA’s Founders.

The Spy talked to Barb yesterday about these exhibitions and her thrill of openings the DCA doors earlier this month.

This video is approximately three minutes in length. For more information about the Dorchester Center for the Arts please go here.
