“Migration: Flight and Feather” Exhibit at The Trippe Gallery

Bluebird by Melanie Fain

April in The Trippe Gallery features a new exhibit “Migration: Flight and Feather”. April also signals the emergence of First Friday’s downtown Gallery Walk after the winter hiatus. The exhibit will be featuring gallery artists Melanie Fain, Kevin Garber, Eric Tardif and Nanny Trippe.

Melanie Fain is well known locally as she exhibited for many years at The Waterfowl Festival. Her passion for nature is clearly reflected in her subtle yet powerful works of art. For over 30 years, Melanie has brought the beauty and drama of nature to her collectors offering them an intimate view of the natural world. She translates her sensitive perceptions into elegant hand-colored etchings and watercolors.

Artist Kevin Garber has been drawing and painting birds for 40 years. From large scale abstracted prints to tiny detailed renderings, Garber has used birds as a muse throughout his entire career. He will be exhibiting new work of birds painted in oil on white enabled plate.

The grace and beauty of birds in flight has inspired a great variety of artistic interpretations, but perhaps none as unique as Quebec artist Eric Tardif’s. His wood sculptures capture the elegant and graceful movements of birds through abstract expressions drawn from a lifetime of close observation. Tardif was the featured artist of the 2018 Waterfowl Festival.

Nanny Trippe has been observing nature her entire life. As a native of the Eastern Shore, she has always been sensitive to the changing seasons and the migration of the birds to the family farm. Her fine art photographs capture native birds in their natural environment.

The exhibit will open with a special reception Friday April 5 from 5-8pm. The Trippe Gallery is located at 23 N Harrison Street in Easton. For more information please call 410-310-8727, or visit thetrippegallery.com.
