MSCF: Todd Fund Awards Total $76,500 this Year

Advisors for the George B. Todd Fund; John McGinnis, Bill Brooks, David Tolley and Mid-Shore Community Foundation President, Buck Duncan presented $76,500 in grant funding to the following organizations:  Dorchester County Community Service Providers, Dorchester County Historical Society, Dorchester YMCA, Mental Health Association in Talbot County, Richardson Men’s Bible Class of St. Paul’s Methodist Church and Nanticoke Historic Preservation Alliance.

The George B. Todd Fund makes numerous charitable distributions each year in Dorchester County.  The Todd Advisors meet quarterly to review proposals, learn about new charitable projects and discuss ways to improve the quality of life in their county.  Grants are made for a wide range of projects and causes.  Since its founding in 1998, the George B. Todd Fund has provided nearly $3 million in grants to Dorchester County organizations and causes.  The Mid-Shore Community Foundation carries out all administrative requirements of the Todd Fund including; quarterly reports, oversight of investments, audit, tax filings, site visits, evaluations of prospective grantees and grant distributions per the advisors’ recommendations.  The Mid-Shore Community Foundation’s grant application can be found at www.mscf.org.
