The Tred Avon Players open their 2015 season on February 12 with Night Watch, an ingeniously devised thriller by Oxford’s own Lucille Fletcher. Oxford: Opportunities and Challenges, brown bag lunch talk by Oxford Town Clerk Cheryl Lewis, Wednesday, February 25, at noon. Bring your lunch and enjoy an informal presentation about the town of Oxford, present and future, with Q&A. Coffee/tea will be provided. No charge.
Oxford’s Rich Wagner will present a fascinating five-part series, National Security in the 21st Century, on March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, from 10:30 am to noon. This course will address a broad range of topics related to the national security of the United States in the coming decades. OCC celebrates the wearin’ of the green on Saturday, March 14, at 6 pm with an Irish dinner featuring shepherd’s pie (with beef) prepared by a team of OCC chefs and a concert by Oxford’s Free ‘n Eazy Band. $25 per person. Cash bar. Limited seating. Reservations required by March 6.
For All Seasons, Inc., presents The Best of Heart and Music gala fundraising event on Thursday, March 26, at 6 pm (tickets $100) and performances on Friday and Saturday, March 27 and 28, at 8 pm and Sunday, March 29, at 2 pm. Registration for Oxford’s popular Summer Kids Camp is scheduled for Saturday, April 11, beginning at 7:30 a.m. Children and grandchildren of people who live in or work in Oxford and are between 6-13 years old (entering 2nd grade through 8th grade) are eligible to register. Suzy Hurley returns to OCC for a series of Mid-Level Yoga classes beginning on April 11, 9:30 to 11 am. The series runs for 6 Saturdays—April 11, 18, May 2, 9, 23, 30. Participants should bring a yoga mat, block, blanket and belt. $90 for all six classes; $18 per class drop in fee.
On Sunday, April 12, 2015, at 4 pm, author and Talbot Historical Society Board President Larry Denton discusses his new book, “Unionists in Virginia: Politics, Secession and Their Plan to Prevent Civil War.” Books will be available for purchase and signing. Light reception follows talk. Free admission. Presented in conjunction with the Talbot Historical Society.

Fine Arts @ Oxford returns in its 31st year May 16-17. Juried exhibitors will be on hand to display and sell their works. The weekend includes demonstrations and a raffle; lunch will be available, including homemade strawberry shortcake. Saturday hours 10-5, Sunday 10-4. Admission $5.

Bayside Quilters present “A Garden of Quilts” June 5-7. Beautiful quilts will be displayed on Friday and Saturday, June 5 and 6, from 10-5, and on Sunday, June 7, from 11-4.
