The Oxford Business Association is sponsoring its 8th Annual Picket Fence Auction on Saturday, the 8th of October from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Oxford Community Center. We hope you will be able to attend this event, which will include a live auction of the ten 2016 picket fences. As in previous years, a portion of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the charity of the artist’s choice. We have many great causes this year, including Talbot Humane Society, the Talbot Special Riders, Wounded Warriors, and Character Counts, Mid Shore, to name just a few!
Local artists have done a beautiful job of making these fences a unique piece of artwork that are certain to be the highlight of the evening. Our local residents and visitors to Oxford have enjoyed taking a walking tour about town to see the fences throughout the last few months.
The event on 8 October is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. If you have not seen the fences yet, they are still on display until the end of September. You can also view them on line at portofoxford.com. If you’d like to bid on a fence and cannot be at the auction, please contact me for a proxy bid sheet! [email protected]. As in the past, we expect this to be great event with wide attendance. Even if you don’t plan to bid on a fence, we hope you will come to town and enjoy our hospitality!
