Queen Anne’s County Emergency Services is proud to announce the upcoming Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training sessions, open to all members of the community regardless of age or ability. The training aims to equip participants with essential skills to effectively respond to disasters and emergencies, fostering resilience within the community.

All sessions must be attended as follows:

  • Saturday, April 27: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Sunday, April 28: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Saturday, May 4: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Sunday, May 5: 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Whether you’re interested in helping yourself, your loved ones, or neighbors during times of crisis, CERT training offers invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience. Participants will learn essential response skills, including fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, and more.

“We welcome any age and ability to take our CERT course,” says Shae Parsley, Queen Anne’s County Emergency Services. “You do not have to be a Queen Anne’s County resident to attend this training. Anyone that has a desire to help themselves, their loved ones, and maybe even a neighbor in times of disaster is encouraged to sign up.”

CERT training adheres to nationally recognized guidelines, with materials adapted to address the specific hazards faced within Queen Anne’s County. In the event of a disaster when Emergency Services personnel may be delayed in response, CERT members serve as crucial first responders.

For questions or to register for the CERT training, please contact Shae Parsley at 410-758-4500 ext. 1451 or via email at [email protected]. To sign up, visit here.
