Donations to Talbot Humane will make double the difference, thanks to an anonymous donor who is matching contributions through the end of the year. “We have been offered an amazing gift by an exceptionally generous friend of Talbot Humane,” said Nancy Wells, Fundraising & Development Coordinator.
The matching challenge means that each contribution received will save twice as many animals, purchase twice as much pet food and support twice as many veterinary services. Donors simply need to write “matching gift” in the memo line of their checks or online donations to have their contributions matched.
“There has been a great focus lately on ‘shopping local.’ We are offering an opportunity for donors to ‘give local,’” said Wells, encouraging donors to visit the shelter and see how their contributions are being put to use. She emphasized that Talbot Humane receives no national funding and depends heavily on community support to fund its care for Talbot County’s animals.
The nonprofit organization’s goal is to raise $30,000 during the year-end holiday giving season. Donations may be mailed to Talbot Humane at P.O. Box 1143, Easton, MD 21601 or made online at www.talbothumane.org.
