On Tuesday, September 22 at 12:15pm, Carpe Diem Arts will kick-off another free lunchtime concert season at the Talbot County Senior Center at Brookletts Place.
Featured will be local favorites, the Royal Oak Musicians — Lynn Henderson, Jay Brown and Ed Klein on acoustic guitars and harmonica — performing a wonderful mélange of traditional and contemporary folk and original songs of the Chesapeake Bay.
The series continues on Monday, October 19 with Jim Fodrie and Abby Cureton in a program of delightful original songs and memorable renditions of contemporary and Americana songs from the ‘70s to the present.
On Tuesday, November 17 – back by popular demand – will be Chris Noyes presenting a marvelous medley of popular and original songs on guitar and ukulele in celebration of Thanksgiving.
On Monday, December 14, Joy Ike will serenade us with a heart-warming and festive program of songs for the holiday season. Joy’s voice has been described as a cross between Norah Jones and Regina Spektor, and NPR’s “All Things Considered” praised her music as “truly compelling.”
The concert series is co-presented by Brookletts Place and the Carpe Diem Arts Outreach Fund with support from the Mid-Shore Community Foundation, Dock Street Foundation, Talbot County Arts Council, the Maryland State Arts Council, and by individual contributions to Carpe Diem Arts and the Talbot County Senior Center.
The monthly 45-60 minute performances are FREE and open to the public. Lunch is available at 12 noon with advance reservations.
