The Oxford Community Center is pleased to announce a variety of upcoming events at our recently-renovated facility at 200 Oxford Road.
Start your St. Patrick’s Day celebration on Friday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m. with a local favorite—the Free And Eazy Band—at the Oxford Community Center. Lively music, dancing, a cash bar with Irish libations, sweet and salty nibbles, and good friends—what else do you need for lots of Irish fun!
“P. T. Barnum” comes to OCC on Sunday, March 30, at 2 p.m. in the form of actor Neill Hartley, who will portray in costume the creator of the Greatest Show on Earth. This one-man, one-hour play is educational, fun, and family friendly. Adult admission $5, children under 12 free. Festive atmosphere; snacks available. This play is partially sponsored by the Talbot County Arts Council with funding from the Talbot County Council and the towns of Easton and Oxford.
The Fourth Annual Heart and Music event returns to OCC on Friday and Saturday, March 21 and 22, at 8 p.m. and on Sunday, March 23, at 2 p.m. Proceeds from these terrific musical performances benefit the Behavioral Health and Rape Crisis Center at For All Seasons, Inc. The Society of Saint Vincent DePaul debuts its annual fund-raising event at OCC with all proceeds benefitting those in need in Talbot County on Friday, March 28, with a cocktail party and silent auction—An Evening in Oxford–from 7-9 p.m., followed by a fashion show and luncheon—Fashion Follies V Goes British–on Saturday, March 29, starting at 11 a.m. Each event is $25; tickets available at St. Peter and Paul Church and at the Saint Vincent DePaul Thrift Center. On Tuesday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m., the Lyme Disease Association of the Eastern Shore of Maryland will present an informative and timely lecture, “Understanding Lyme Disease” at OCC. Often misdiagnosed, Lyme Disease can be hard to treat. Learn about the latest in diagnosis and treatment, as well as prevention of tick bites and Lyme Disease. Free and open to the public.

May brings the 30th anniversary of Fine Arts @ Oxford May 16-18. A gala preview party on Friday evening, May 16, is followed by two days of juried art displayed by 40 mid-Atlantic artists. Join us on Saturday, May 17, from 10 am to 5 pm and on Sunday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and pick up a unique creation for your home. Strawberry shortcake and delicious luncheon fare will be available, and an hourly art raffle begins Sunday at noon. Saturday and Sunday admission $5 adults, children under 12 free. Proceeds benefit Oxford Community Center.
On June 5 at 7 p.m., OCC will commemorate the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings with a talk by U.S. Naval Academy Professor Emeritus Craig Symonds, Ph.D., on his new book, “Neptune: The Allied Invasion of Europe and the D-Day Landings.” The program will include the Easton High School NJROTC color guard.
