Easton – On May 13, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9000 block of Black Dog Alley for an assault. Arriving Deputies observed signs of a fight upon arrival and located Gamaliel Sanchez Martinez, 46 of Easton, MD inside a residence suffering from obvious signs of trauma. Martinez had blood soaked clothing and visible injuries to his face and head. Martinez advised Deputies he had been assaulted by Edgar Hau Mendez, 19 of Easton, MD and Mendez had also caused damage to his residence. Mendez fled the scene; however he was located in the town limits of Easton causing another disturbance and was placed under arrest. Mendez was charged with assault in the second degree and malicious destruction of property. Mendez was seen by a District Court Commissioner and ordered held on a $10,000.00 bond. Martinez was transported to Easton Memorial Hospital and later transferred to the University of Maryland, Shock Trauma.
Easton – On May 17, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 11000 block of Longwoods Road for a domestic disturbance. Responding Deputies were contacted by Christine Marie Spray of that address who advised her live in boyfriend, Ernest Victor Wright, 49 of Easton, MD assaulted her. Deputies observed injuries to the victim which verified her account of the incident and Wright was placed under arrest. Wright was processed and taken before a District Court Commissioner who placed Wright on a $25,000.00 bond. Wright advised the Deputies Spray injured herself to get him in trouble.
Trappe – On May 18, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office took two reports from the 31000 block of Old Orchard Road of chickens being stolen from separate properties. In one incident eight chickens were taken and in the second incident fifteen chickens were taken. The chickens were taken from outside pens after local complaints had been lodged with the humane society about the chickens.
