On November 5, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office arrested James Randy Hollins, 31 of Tilghman, MD for theft. The charges stem from a theft of $250.00 out of a wallet at the Chesapeake House in September 2012. The investigation showed Darrin Wallace left his wallet on the bar when he went to the restroom and Hollins took the wallet, removed the currency and returned the wallet to the bar before Wallace returned. Hollins was arrested on an arrest warrant, taken before a District Court Commissioner and incarcerated on a $5,000.00 bond. Hollins posted bond and was released.
Easton – On November 16, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office served a criminal summons on Christopher Lamont Murray, 29 of Cordova, MD, charging him with theft of cash. During October 2012, Yard Works Plus, LLC reported a theft of cash from their offices located in the 28000 block of Llandaff Road. A review of video surveillance tapes revealed Murray entering the offices and removing cash from a desk drawer. Murray was released upon his signature on the criminal summons.
Easton – On November 18, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle on St Michaels Road near Royal Oak Road for speeding. Upon contact with the operator, Brittany Marie Tyler, 23 of St Michaels, MD, the deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage upon her breath. Tyler was arrested for driving while intoxicated and during a search incident to arrest, two baggies of marijuana were discovered. Tyler was charged with possession of marijuana and driving while intoxicated. Tyler was released to her mother after processing.
St Michaels – On November 19, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 9000 block of Quail Hollow Drive for a domestic assault in progress. Upon arrival, Deputies spoke with Kista Ann Weller who advised her husband had physically removed her from their bedroom during an argument and injured her arm. After observing an open wound to her arm, deputies arrested Lee Clay Weller, 77 of St Michaels, MD for domestic assault. Paramedics were called and treated Kista Weller for her injuries; however she refused further treatment. Lee Weller was arrested, transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing and released on his personal recognizance by the District Court Commissioner.

The Sherrif’s Office is doing a great job apprehending these Talbot County criminals. I especially like when they set up their radar trap on the newly reopening stretch of resurface Glebe Road. With the road now so wide, less curvy and without a single pothole motorists are frequently exceeding the posted 35 mph speed limit – to the delight of the deputies!
