Easton – On September 25, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 25000 block of Royal Oak Road for a civil process service. While at the residence Deputies observed in plain view a potted four foot tall marijuana plant. Contact was made with the home owner, Craig Anthony Musil, 57 of Easton, MD, who advised the plant belonged to him. Consent to search the residence was granted and several smoking devices were confiscated from the residence as well as the marijuana plant. Musil was arrested and charged with manufacture a controlled dangerous substance, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. Musil was taken before a District Court Commissioner who released him on his personal recognizance.
The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office would again like to remind residents of several scams that are being reported in the area. The most common reports are phone calls to senior citizens reporting a grandchild either in jail or the hospital who need financial help. The caller will instruct the victim to purchase a money order and send to a location out of the country. A second reported scam is an e-mail or phone call advising the victim they have won a lottery prize, and the caller will advise the victim they need to send money to pay the taxes up front. Several incidents have been reported over the last few weeks and citizens need to be aware. If you have any questions, before any money is sent, please contact the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office at 410-822-1020 or[email protected] for verification or information.
