Both serious and not so serious painters are invited to attend the inaugural Sip and Paint, hosted by the Local Port of Art in partnership with the St. Michaels Winery. These fun and artsy events will take place at the Winery, 609 S. Talbot St., every second Thursday during the summer starting on July 2 from 7 to 9 PM. Sip wine, enjoy cheerful conversation with friends – and strangers – while our artist gently guides and encourages you from start to finish.
The July 2nd Sip and Paint will feature a painting and instruction with guest artist, Vickie Fisher. Your registration fee of $35 includes one glass of wine and all supplies necessary to create your masterpiece. Additional wine will be available for purchase. Vickie L. Fisher is a local Artist who specializes in nautical scenes of the enchanting Chesapeake Bay. She was born a waterman’s child and raised on Tilghman’s Island, Maryland. As a young girl she would often sit on the family pier and watch the Tilghman Island work boats diligently go to work. Sketching the shore lines throughout her youth and her art classes at St. Michaels High School had guided her to follow through with continuing to study the arts at Chesapeake College. Currently Vickie Fisher uses a diverse variety of medium’s consisting of acrylics, enamels, glass paint, and pencil art. Many of her works of art can be found in Galleries throughout the Eastern Shore. Her passion for the arts is evident in her pieces and in her teachings.
Fostering community and the joy of art, St. Michaels Winery and Local Port of Art, are holding Sip and Paint nights every second Thursday throughout the summer. The first event, featuring guest artist Vickie Fisher, will be held at the Winery on July 2, 2015 from 7 to 9PM. Subsequent Sip and Paint nights are scheduled for July 16, July 30, August 13, August 27, September 10 and September 24.
