Favorites the Spring Standards return to NightCat Friday, August 10.
The almost impossible to categorize Spring Standards play this Friday, August 10 at the NightCat in Easton. Variously described as ebullient pop rock, with a new wave energy, this trio features exquisite three part harmonies and a variety of instrumental switching. From the NightCat website: “They take a drum kit and break it up among the three of them, and then they set up along the front of the stage. Whoever’s playing bass is also stepping on a kick drum. whoever’s playing guitar is also stepping on the high hat…in the middle stands Heather, switching between melodica, keys, glockenspiel and snare drum.”
The band tours constantly; appearances include SXSW, Conan O”Brien show (twice).
