With a packed crowd at the Talbot County Democrats office on Washington Street on friday night, Eric Lowery, president of the Frederick Douglass Honor Society and a member of Chesapeake College’s IT department staff, made his first appearance as an official candidate for the Talbot County Council election in November. He starts with the challenge of being known as Harriet Lowery’s husband.

Eric Lowery is a perfect candidate for Talbot’s County Council. Not only would his presence better reflect the ethnic make-up of our county, it would result in more balanced representation.
It’s hard not to be concerned with the way things have been going, considering Talbot is ranked second to last among in Maryland’s 2014 Overview of Local Government for both spending per pupil on education and job growth since 2008.
