The community is invited to a book signing of “Eastern Shore Splendor” Photography by Pat and Dick Cooper at Ouvert Gallery 207 Talbot Street St. Michaels, MD at 6:30 p.m. Thursday July 23rd. Ouvert Gallery celebrates the St. Michaels couple for illuminating the beauty of the Eastern Shore.
Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dick Cooper and his wife, Pat, have combined their photographic talents and love for the Chesapeake Bay to publish a high-quality photo book entitled “Eastern Shore Splendor.” The hard-bound book contains 50 glossy pages with 82 images that celebrate small-town life and the region’s natural beauty. Avid sailors who have spent countless hour exploring the rivers and creeks of the Bay, the Coopers have developed a keen eye for their surroundings. “Eastern Shore Splendor” captures the changing seasons, fascinating people and abundant wildlife that make the area a unique place to live.
Dick spent 36 years as a metropolitan newspaperman, most of it as a reporter and editor at The Philadelphia Inquirer. He won the Pulitzer Prize for General Local Reporting in 1972 for his coverage of the Attica Prison Riot in Upstate New York. He is a frequent contributor to several area publications including the Tidewater Times and the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. Pat had a successful career has a corporate administrator and is an integral part of the international sales team at Sea Watch International in Easton. The Coopers live and sail in St. Michaels, Maryland.
