Andrew Bunting, curator of the Scott Arboretum at Swarthmore College, will speak on Tuesday, November 13, at a special gathering of the Talbot County Garden Club in the Historical Society Auditorium, 25 South Washington Street, Easton.
Please note that the program will begin at 10 AM and will be followed by a coffee honoring the club’s associate members and the members of the Garden Club of the Eastern Shore. This is a change from our usual 1:30 program starting time.
In a Power Point presentation, Bunting will show a portion of a trip he took to China where he accompanied a number of distinguished plant collectors from the United States and other countries in their search for rare plant species that they hoped would grow in different locations.
Bunting, whose plant and soil science degree is from Southern Illinois University. He also has gardening experience in England, New Zealand and several US states. He is the principal of a garden design business which plants and maintains large plant containers in Center City Philadelphia.
This is an ideal opportunity to learn about rare species of plants grown in other countries which might thrive right here. The public is invited.
