May I humbly suggest that for those of us in rural areas of Talbot county the more important issue is the availability of reasonably priced broadband access. Verizon continually advertises FIOS — except that it is not available where I live. Atlantic Broadband wants $2000 to wire my home.
My best alternative is EVDO from Verizon Wireless – an Air Card. It is expensive and limits the amount of content I can download. But still, it’s better than nothing.
The Maryland legislature has never demanded that the phone company – Verizon – provide modern service to those of us in rural areas. This hurts homeowners – especially students, and anyone who wants to start a business. The internet providers have a great time picking low hanging fruit.
If you live in Easton or somewhere else which provides decent broadband you are lucky — you should be thankful.
