Talbot Arts is embarking on a new three-year strategic plan and is calling on the community for input to shape the future of the arts in Talbot County. This announcement comes as budget reductions in state and federal funding are anticipated over the next few years.
As one of 24 state-funded arts councils in Maryland, Talbot Arts receives additional financial support from local governments and private philanthropy to provide arts enrichment programs for schools and scholarships for middle and high school students. Now, the organization is looking ahead and wants to ensure its programs and grants align with the community’s needs and interests.
In an exclusive interview, Talbot Arts Director Joan Levy spoke about the importance of public participation in the planning process.
Residents are encouraged to take part in an online survey designed to gather insights on local arts interests and priorities.
“We aim to ensure that our resources are allocated fairly, objectively, and unbiasedly,” Levy added. “By participating in the survey, you’re helping us build a stronger, more vibrant arts community.”
The survey is now live and can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/NZKRTVN.
