Easton – On Oct. 26, deputies served a criminal summons on Larry David Ross, 61, previously of Easton, for theft. The charges stem from a report of stolen registration plates from Melissa Henderson in January 2011. Ross was stopped in Virginia displaying the registration plates on a vehicle that was found to be not properly registered. Ross was released upon his signature on the criminal summons.
Easton – Deputies responded to a single vehicle accident on St Michaels Road near Royal Oak Road on Oct. 25. Deputies identified the operator as Roxanne Marie Willey, 27 of Cambridge. Willey was found to be intoxicated and was placed under arrest. A search found marijuana and paraphernalia. Willey was charged with negligent driving, failing to drive right of center, failing to control vehicle speed to avoid a collision, driving while impaired by alcohol and possession of marijuana and paraphernalia. Willey was taken before a District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance.
Trappe – On Oct. 27, deputies stopped a motor vehicle on Ocean Gateway near Backtown Road for traffic violations. The operator was identified as Linda Chanel Harcum, 21 of Gwynn Oak, Md., and it was determined she did not have a drivers license. A passenger, Ryan J. Mercer, 22 of Gwynn Oak, said he was getting sick and started to get out of the vehicle. When Mercer moved, a baggie of marijuana was seen on the seat where he was sitting. Mercer was placed under arrest and charged with possession of marijuana. Mercer was released on his personal recognizance by the District Court Commissioner.
Easton – On Oct. 27, deputies stopped a vehicle on Ocean Gateway near Boh Brooks Road for an equipment violation. Upon contact with the operator, Dwayne Lamont Brown Jr., 24 of Reisterstown, MD, an odor of marijuana was detected in the vehicle. A search of the vehicle found a baggie of marijuana and paraphernalia. Brown was placed under arrest and transported to the Sheriff’s Office for processing. Brown was taken before a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance.
Wittman – Deputies arrested Joseph Michael Augustine Jr, 26 of no fixed address, on Oct. 13 and charged him with armed robbery, assault with a firearm, conspiracy, assault and malicious destruction of property. The charges stemmed from an incident in the 22000 block of Pot Pie Road on Aug. 11 where an individual was threatened with a shotgun, assaulted and his money stolen. Augustine was located in Beltsville, Md. and taken into custody and transported to Talbot County. Augustine was taken before a District Court Commissioner and ordered held at the Talbot County Detention Center pending a bond review.
Royal Oak – Deputies responded to the 4000 block of Devon Path Lane for an intruder in a residence on Oct. 20. It was determined a young male had entered the residence without permission waking the homeowner while looking around the kitchen. The intruder was confronted and seemed confused, stating he was looking for a party and left the residence. The area was searched and a 17-year-old male from Oxford was located matching the description. The juvenile appeared to be intoxicated and lost and admitting to entering the residence by mistake. His parents were contacted and the juvenile was released to the custody of his father with charges of burglary and trespassing being referred to the Department of Juvenile Services. It was discovered the next morning that the same juvenile had also entered a garage on another nearby property and was charged accordingly.
Wittman – On October 23, deputies responded to the 22000 block of Cooper Lane in reference to an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Investigation revealed Roderick Hamilton Murray, 21 of Wittman, is accused of taking a 1990 Chevrolet pickup from his grandfather without permission. Murray returned the truck a short time later. Murray was served with a criminal summons charging him with unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, theft and unauthorized removal of property. Murray was released upon his signature on the criminal summons.
Easton – On October 24, deputies to the High Banks Community for a report of a suspicious vehicle. The operator of the vehicle offered candy to a female juvenile in the neighborhood who quickly ran to her residence notifying her parents. The operator was described as a white/Hispanic male in his mid 40s with dark hair. The vehicle was described as a dark-colored SUV with tinted windows. Another juvenile in the area described seeing two Ford Expeditions driving around the neighborhood, one dark green and the other maroon in color, both with tinted windows. Trappe – On October 25, Deputies from the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Lowest Price gas station on Ocean Gateway in Trappe, MD for a burglary. Unknown suspects entered the store by breaking the front door glass. A large white box style truck was observed in the area at the time of the burglary.
