Talbot Historical Society Project Rewind: Ewing Hardware Store Staff Gathers

August 29, 2025 by Talbot Historical Society

Share

A special thanks to Tyler Horner for sharing your father Bob Horner’s picture of the staff of the T. Earl Ewing Hardware Store of Harrison Street! Tyler added that “the picture was taken between 1963 and 1966. The John Deere lawn tractor in the background was first offered in 1963 and my Dad worked for Ewing as a mechanic in the shop from 1960 until the blizzard of 1966. Pictured on the far right is T. Earl’s nephew and childhood friend, David Watson, along with Mr. Ewing standing next to him. I do not know the names of the other folks in the picture. Since my Dad took the picture with his Yashica camera, he was not in it.” Maybe you can help identify the rest of the staff?

Ralph McNeal back row far left. Looks to be the youngest of that group.
