A beautiful Talbot Historical Society Collection 1977 photo of an iced in Knapps Narrows at Tilghman Island, Maryland! Visible are Skipjacks with pusher boats! Also the database photo information identifies the foreground equipment as a block and tackle Derrick and electric conveyor? Do you know how this equipment was used?

This is a picture of DogWood Harbor, NOT Knapps Narrows
George Ball says
Yes, Rondy, it is Dogwood Harbor. Thanks.
George Ball says
I was working with the Natural Resources Police during that time period. The block and tackle (hoist) was used to unload the bushel tubs of oysters from the dredge boats and other work boats, which would be dumped into the conveyor and loaded onto trucks.
Kenny Haddaway says
I have used both the block and tackle “falls” with a bushel tub by hand to pull oysters out of the boat 1 bushel tub at a time and dumped them on to the conveyer to ride up in to the trucks that haul them.
Now say 1-2-3-4 tally!ke
