Talbot Interfaith Shelter Seeks Zoning Board Approval

April 10, 2014 by Talbot Interfaith Shelter

Share

The Talbot Interfaith Shelter (TIS) has applied with the Town of Easton for a Special Exception Permit to operate a homeless shelter/transitional home at 107 Goldsborough Street, currently the location of B&B Easton’s Promise.

A hearing is scheduled before the Easton Board of Zoning and Appeals on Tuesday, April 15 at 9:15 a.m. Hearing location is 14 South Harrison Street in Easton.

The proposed shelter location is commercially zoned, outfitted with a fire suppression sprinkler system and is set up to provide accommodations for 12-15 people. It will triple Talbot Interfaith Shelter’s current capacity, at host site churches, and allow shelter for the needy to be open 24 hours a day, year-round. It also will provide space for TIS staff and staff from other Talbot County agencies, creating great efficiency and effectiveness when dealing with the needy.

TIS has requested its supporters to attend the April 15 meeting.
