Talbot County Public Schools’ Superintendent Kelly Griffith will be the 2015 Headliner at the Noon, January 13, meeting of Talbot Association of Clergy and Laity (TACL), held in St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 100 Peachblossom Road, Easton. The public is invited to attend with brown bag lunch.
“Mrs. Griffith radiates the spirit of collaboration,” said TACL Chairman Bishop Joel Marcus Johnson, “so that our congregations can run parallel with our schools in promoting literacy, comprehension, and cognition. Just as ‘The Three Rs’ are mandated by law, so does the religious teaching of ‘the love of learning and desire for God’ complement the law. Our education and religious cultures have much to give to each other and to our young people.”
“We are bonded together,” said Superintendent Griffith, “by a strong commonality: the children of Talbot County Public Schools. Regardless of background, age or ideology. The past, present and future of Talbot Schools is ours to share. As I’ve stated before, it is my true belief that community collaboration is what will drive us forward. Collaboration is innovation’s true currency.”
“Superintendent Griffith is an inspiring innovator who has grown her profession within the Talbot County Public Schools,” Bishop Joel added, “as classroom educator, assistant principal and principal positions, as assistant superintendent, and in the development of a wide array of special projects, including student programs and school improvement.”
Now active for over six decades, TACL is a voluntary association of religious congregations, medical and social welfare organizations, providing the opportunity for networking and professional advancement, and for generating events of ecumenical and interfaith fellowship. Both individuals and congregations may join. For more information, write to [email protected]
