Thank you for voting for A Chesapeake Journal in the Baltimore Sun’s 2013 Mobbies Contest! We won first place in the Lifestyle category, and second place in the Personal Blog category (right behind a blog called Sex in Baltimore!)
Now I wish I’d have gone to the Mobbies party last night in Baltimore! My 15 minutes of fame!
To everyone who navigated that tricky voting page – THANK YOU!
I promise more good content. Wow. Renewed commitment.
So grateful, so buoyed, so delighted.
What a way to celebrate four years of blogging! It was EXACTLY four years ago, on November 19th, 2009, that I made this first entry into A Chesapeake Journal:
Welcome to my world
This is my first post on this blog. After a year of life on the Chesapeake as an estate caretaker with my husband and two dogs, it seems high time to bring my journal from the notebook on the dining table – to an online version. I intend to post about my daily life – here on 200 private acres, near a charming village that seems remote from any time and place. On the other hand, it’s a two hour drive to the nation’s capitol. Remote, but not so far. I can still see the milky way on a clear night, just like we did in Nebraska. You can find us somewhere around here:
