8 Letters to Editor

Thanks Former Mayor Willey for Easton Parks

November 3, 2023 by Letter to Editor

Share

There have been two articles recently, one in the Star Democrat and one in the Talbot Spy, regarding the various parks in Easton, the latest being the new waterfront park. One should be aware that these great parks were created under the leadership of our previous mayor, Bob Willey. It is too bad that he has not been mentioned in either article, one by Tom McCall of Chesapeake Publishing and one by the new Easton Town Council president, Frank Gunsallus.

These parks are wonderful additions to our town, enjoyed by many citizens, and credit should be given where credit is due.

Like you I was extremely unhappy that our previous mayor, Bob Willey did not receive the credit he deserved in the articles. These parks were part of his vision for making Easton a most livable place. Tom McCall should have known better but clueless Gunsallus likely doesn’t even know his town history.

Thanks Jane for your letter. People that move here from other areas of the country don’t seem to think like you or I. I’ve
known Bobby Willey for a long time and he deserves a lot of credit for the things he has done for Easton and Talbot County.
